Can I just first say WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE!!?!? I am officially DONE classes for my first semester of grad school. That is absolutely insane! I am so proud of myself and all my mates for getting to this point! We started out as a group of 28 and still are 28 strong!
Quick note before I begin: this is going to be a long post. Once again, I've kept you all anticipating my latest adventures.
Anyways, where did I last leave you all! Oh, yes my flat mates wonderful birthday! Have I mentioned enough times yet how amazing and wonderful she is! Her and her friends here have welcomed me with open arms. We had a wonderful evening out! Complete with buffalo wings, kinder bueno cupcakes, chocolate cake and ALL!

Let's get my foooooood obsession out of the way, here are a couple [more] photos of food. The ribs from the Smoke BBQ House in New Farm were pretty spectacular. Although, they didn't top my mothers! I can't wait to go home and devour all her amazing food! The list of food requests is long and the dreaming is real. Then, as a lone solider on a Friday night, I "spiced" up my [ever so entertaining] life and made a homemade heart-shaped pizza!
This year, Brisbane is hosting the G20 Summit. It's cool and all minus the traffic delays and insane security. However, J & I, managed to sneak in a dinner in the CBD (downtown in Canadian slang) and the first display of the G20 Summit lightshow. There are events happening basically every night for three weeks revolving around the G20. Again, Brisbane is making it real easy to call this place HOME. But no worries 'true north strong and free-ers' the Canadian flag was lit up and I felt my Canadian pride! Canada will and always is truly home.
Then, last week a familiar face appeared at my doorstep! A mate from High Level was traveling the world [SO INSANELY JEALOUS] and decided to stay in Brissy for a week. Thursday night, I showed him my favourite parts of Brisbane including: Southbank, the Sangria Bar, and of course, we had to squeeze in a few pear ciders.
Friday night was Halloween and we threw a spook-tacular party in our flat. It was great and super nice to hang out with a large portion of my classmates outside of uni! This year I made a homemade costume. Keeping the Canadian pride I was a Canadian gumball machine! For all of you wondering why I am a "Canadian" gumball machine it is because they do not have a quarter or 25 cent coin here in Australia. I think I pulled it off! Enjoy the slideshow!
The next morning I got the rental vehicle! You heard me right! The budget lady trusted me with a Mitsubishi ASX. It was soooo amazing to be driving again! The freedom felt unreal and surprisingly, I drove quite well on the left hand side of the road! The weirdest part was having the drivers seat being on the right hand side! I kept wanting to reach right for the shift stick but it was on my left! So odd. Again, surprisingly I adjusted to everything being opposite quickly! We had the vehicle for 4 days and it was returned accident free :) Either way, Saturday we ventured North up the coast to the Noosa area. We stayed at the Beach Retreat Coolum. The hotel had an amazing ocean view and the weather was just right all weekend. I even came home with some tan lines. I will definitely find myself venturing up the Sunshine Coast again.
Finally, after returning from the relaxing beach life I am now in study mode. All that's left is 5 final exams then, I am free to beach it again before returning home to Canada for the holidays! I cannot wait to see you all and surprisingly, am looking forward to a white Christmas! I promise not to make you jealous in the next post! It will likely just be a HOOORAY post - post exams! I hope everyone has had a great start to their November! I know I sure have!
