Since returning the Queensland weather hasn't disappointed. It's hot, inexplicably hot, burn your face in two minutes HOT! The heat mixed with humidity makes walking to the bus stop 10 minutes away a sweat shower. So, life by the ocean or pool it is... Good thing I live in Queensland and only an hour from the Coast ;)
The day we arrived I sent Michelle off on her bus and myself back home! I went straight to bed and slept for a solid three hours! I then decided to unpack my suitcases onto my bed so I had no excuses but to unpack! I then quickly repacked a small overnight bag and made my way to the Gold Coast and Michelle. It was so odd being back at Bond without the girls I completed my semester abroad with! However, the campus was just as beautiful as I remember it! Michelle's place has a pool and we found ourselves in it immediately! My housemate is also attending Bond Uni this year to complete her Masters. Therefore, us girls went to Surfers Paradise and out for dinner. The next day a group of us did a day trip to Broadbeach. It was insanely hot and we spent the day in and out of the ocean!

On Wednesday I made my way back to Brisbane. A friend of a friend, C, was in Brisbane and we had plans to meet up on Thursday! We spent the afternoon at the Southbank beach and then went absailing at Kangaroo Point! It was an absolute blast! Minus the part where I forgot to put sunscreen on my face and burnt... AGAIN. Then Michelle came into Brisbane for the evening and we all met up again for dinner and drinks! The next day we explored Brisbane and then had an Aussie style BBQ in the West End along the river! I used the leftover Kangaroo meat to make mini meatballs and enjoyed them with Pasta the following evening!
I then had a pretty quite weekend as I had to pack and get ready for my trip to Victoria! Early Sunday morning I had my flight from Brisbane to Melbourne where J and her mom and brother fetched me from the airport! We drove back to Heyfield, Victoria, where J and her family live, quickly packed and headed to Seaspray. Seaspray is located at one end of the 90 mile beach found along the state of Victoria! Unfortunately, while I was there it was "freezing" as temperatures hoovered in and around 15 degrees with a cold wind throughout the day and evening. We spent 2 nights camping with J's friends at the caravan park. It was a great way to celebrate Australia day!
After a cold couple nights at Seaspray we made our way back to Heyfield. The rest of the week was spent relaxing and exploring in and around Heyfield.
The Fletts' were more than welcoming to me and it was heartwarming to be "part of the family" for the week! They live in a cute Victorian style home! It was so interesting to learn that most people live in single level homes and that siblings still get along even if they have to share rooms! That is something that doesn't happen in Canada. Most families have two/three story homes and you hardly hear of children sharing bathrooms let alone bedrooms! Anyways, I left with a full tummy and full heart from my week in Victoria! Thanks again to the Fletts' for the hospitality and Australian family experience! They have a wonderful group of family and friends in Heyfield and I can see why J loves home so much! I can't wait to return the favour in Canada one day!

One week seemed to fly by and just as the week had started an early Sunday morning rise was had as we had to drive 3 hours to get to the airport. Since returning to Brisbane I have had a pretty low key week! Visiting with friends, relaxing and preparing for Uni.
A couple days ago a spontaneous trip was planned! It all began with a $75 dollar seat sale on tickets from Sydney to Hobart. Tomorrow, I fly to Sydney and then on Wednesday the adventure to Tasmania begins! Anyways, I need to get off this computer and pack my currently completely empty backpack! I look forward to sharing my next adventure with you again soon!
