IT'S DONE! and by it I mean the dreadful-never-ending-ever-procrastinated-final-exam-period. I have been living, breathing, and quite literally causing my hand to go numb from writing study notes and exams. Can I just go back to undergraduate level courses where I hardly had any notes to study and I thought my exams were "hard". UGHHH!!! I have always been fortunate to have a great memory but I don't know if I was able to memorize my million notes AND integrate the knowledge into each case based questions. This study period (known here as SWOTVAC) seemed to fly by in comparison to last semester. I'm not sure if that's a positive yet. I guess "time will tell" as semester results are released on July 8th.
Anyways, here's a little catch up on my life. Another semester DOWN and two clinical placements COMPLETED! Phew, knocking off those courses and clinical hour requirements slowly but surely! In those final weeks between assignments and writing study notes a group of us Canadian girls were able to check out the PANIYIRI Greek Festival held in Musgrave Park. There was tons of food stalls and lots of activities/events including amusement rides. It was a nice afternoon excursion followed by a few glasses of Sangria before heading back to reality and uni work. The final weeks of lecture seemed to swiftly come to an end as there were too many final assessments and assignments due. Which led to the last day of class of my end of semester celebration! A few of us got tickets to see Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, convienently located right in Brisbane! It was an ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL way to spend 3 hours on a Friday evening. From classic lines such as - "Nobody puts baby in a corner" and hit songs, Hey Baby, Do You Love Me? and I've Had The Time Of My Life. I was captivated and in 'aw' with the stunning performances. It's pretty cool that I live in a city (and only a ferry ride away) that hosts world renowned theatre productions all year round! A real change from growing up in rural Alberta.

In short, exams are over and somehow so is the month of June. It is now time to relax, rejuvenate and recuperate in order to prepare for the coming semester. The schedule seems even more barbaric... a very dreadful thought. As for my general trend of venturing off and traveling during time off I will not be upholding tradition and instead will be enjoying Brisbane and a MUCH NEEDED BREAK. We have just under a month before the "excitement" begins again. I will be sure to take advantage of no alarm clocks, the freedom to cook and spare some time for wine!
I should also note that I left High Level a year ago today. Which means... It's official, I've been "blogging" for an entire year! I was also getting ready to celebrate Canada Day with family and friends. Little did I know that I would be spending my next Canada Day across the world in Australia. I'm wishing all of my Canadian friends and family a very HAPPY CANADA DAY! Enjoy the celebrations! Miss you all!
