Much to my dismay the mid-semester break is officially over. Not only has it unfortunately ended, it has officially been very unsuccessful school wise. UGH! Future Melissa is NOT going to appreciate this. The to-do list has decreased, but by very little. Either way, it was a very nice break with beautiful weather - can't ask for more than that! BTW, Brisbane's weather has taken an steady incline for the better this last week :) Queenslands "sunshine state" logo is starting to live up to its name... finally. Soooooo.... If you were to ask me what I spent most of my time doing during this break I would respond - "researching how children develop". That might sound inappropriate, if I weren't working on a school project. Either way, I have shared with you the poster I have created for my speech class project. Go ahead and ask me ANY questions about typical development from birth to 5 years. I GOT IT! It should also be note that here in this flat we work on a reward system. Accomplish a task = get an ice cream :) |
Otherwise, my break wasn't that exciting.
Wednesday was a girls day on the Gold Coast shopping at Harbour Town. That was followed up with the Bachelor.
Thursday evening was the Bachelor finale. So of course, a girls dinner date was obligatory. The girls came over and I made vegetarian lasagna and such. It was a nice evening.

Friday and Saturday I really have no idea what I did (I'd like to believe I did school work on those days). Either way the days seem to have disappeared. Then, Sunday I began my newest adventure. I have decided to challenge myself this month with something new, so I signed up for 4 weeks of beginner yoga. My first class was on Sunday. It was interesting to say the least. I'm not really sure if yoga is something for me, but I am going to give it an honest attempt. Either way, its a nice break from school and life. Its a half hour walk to the studio and I managed to get a tan just from my walk there and back on Sunday!
Monday was labour day here in Australia. They take it very seriously and literally EVERYTHING closes. Luckily for me, my roommate cooked a traditional Indian dish. She made prawn curry with paneer. It was delicious and I feel so cultural having had real Indian food. I look forward to trying many more Indian dishes!

Now again, I am procrastinating preparing for tomorrows speech clinic so I will leave this blog post short and sweet. I also realize that based on my recent photos I need a life outside of food.
Anyways, chat again soon fellow followers!
