The weekend has come and gone & it's now just a short 365 days till the next celebration. I get excited just thinking of all the changes and adventures this year will bring! One thing I do know is that I have made some of the worlds most incredible friends in Australia. That was evident last night. THANKS to everyone who came out to celebrate our shared birthday weekend! Us 23 year old Canadians were very excited to celebrate our first of three birthdays here in Australia! Below are a few photos from the evening.
Yesterday, I began the day with a hair cut! I decided to cut my hair to all one length now therefore, it is a few inches shorter. I am a bit unsure of it, but I have only received compliments so it can't be that bad. Then I had the pleasure of spending the rest of the afternoon getting a pedicure and shopping with J.F. We then got ready and met everyone at the Regatta for dinner.
I would like to throw a huge shout out to this special lady who made sure that my day was perfect! She even made sure my birthday had an Aussie touch. The pavlova cake was such a treat! It was super kind and I'm so lucky to call her one of my best friends.
This morning, we went for brunch and began a bit of planning for the exciting possibility of an upcoming Southeast Asia trip in 2015. Possibly the perfect morning for a [sadly] gloomy Brisbane day. This afternoon, I have relaxed and enjoyed doing NOTHING school related. This evening my roommate and I are going to Southbank for dinner. Lastly, I will end my first and last day of 23 with a FERRIS WHEEL RIDE!! I'm clearly not excited at all & I haven't been dying to do this since I arrived!
Today I began feeling a bit homesick, BUT have managed to get by thanks to all the birthday love! So THANKS for the birthday messages, texts, emails, parcels and gifts! I have been spoiled yet again! I can't wait to give all of you the biggest bear hugs when I [eventually, I promise!!!] return to Canada!
